ABSTRACT
The following is from the My Heart Your Heart project home page. There is a great disparity between high- and low-income countries in terms of cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator availability. Each year 1–2 million individuals worldwide die annually due to a lack of access to pacemakers and defibrillators. Meanwhile, almost 90% of individuals with pacemakers would donate their device to others in need if given the chance. Deep Blue offers wonderful advantages for scholars at the University of Michigan who have a project that is eligible for inclusion in this digital persistent archive. There are full-time library staffs devoted to the maintenance of the digital files and the entire digital archive. Each of the years since 2009 has its own separate QR code linked to separated areas within Deep Blue. Thus, more files can be added to these areas as time goes on; the QR code remains persistent and will link to that area.
