ABSTRACT

Increasing populations along with progressive adoption of an industrial-based lifestyle have inevitably led to an increased anthropogenic impact on the biosphere, which leads to environmental pollution. Environmental pollution control has been a concern across the globe. The most concerning and major source of environmental pollution is wastewater pollution. Wastewater pollution causes dreadful effects on public water supplies. Skin irritation, intestinal tract infection, and in extreme cases kidney failure and cancer are main health-associated problems (Gupta 2009). Industry is a major source of wastewater pollution due to industrial expansion to meet the needs of an increasing population, especially in developed countries like India. Wastewater pollution comes from different industrial effluents, such as textile, printing, pharmaceuticals, etc. (Uday et al. 2016). As with other industries, dye industries were set up during rapid industrialization and urbanization.
