ABSTRACT

Wearables are electronic devices that can be worn on the body as an accessory or embedded in the clothes worn by humans. The ability of wearables to connect to the Internet has enabled big data analysis and subsequently brought wearables to the forefront of the Internet of Things. Before the advent of wearables, people relied on hospitals and clinics to keep track of their heath. A wearable may have combination of any of these for early detection of asthma, the wearable can be used to sense the sounds coming from lungs while at the same time monitoring the surroundings to identify potential triggers of an asthma attack. In order to realize flexible wearables, all of the components that are part of the wearable need to be flexible which include; integrated circuits, circuit boards, display, energy storage or harvesting elements, antennas, and sensors. Every wearable comes equipped with certain kinds of sensors, the choice of which depends on the intended application.
