Housing delivery comprises of various stakeholders including designers, developers, contractors, clients, homebuyers, governments and private organizations. Although the need for sustainable affordable housing is increasing, a lack of clarity on the roles of certain parties has been seen to be the setback for the supply and uptake of affordable housing delivery. The low level of awareness and readiness of housing developers to supply affordable housing has been associated with the lack of clarity on responsibilities of relevant stakeholders. The present study aims to examine the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in sustainable affordable housing delivery through a literature review. The present research will be useful to policy makers, developers, manufacturers, suppliers and householders. Moreover, this research aims to produce a prototype housing delivery typology to facilitate systemic delivery of affordable housing that complies with sustainability requirements.
