ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews the comprehensive advantages and disadvantages of antibiotic use in animals such as livestock and poultry and agricultural crop production, and discusses the spread of antibiotics through various pathways, the global impact, and bioprocessing treatment. The prime role of antibiotics is to treat infections and eradicate diseases at the earliest stages. The introduction of antibiotics for use in animals has been debated in veterinary medicine. Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria change their response to the particular drug or medicine. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria may harm animals and humans, and infections caused by these bacteria are very hard to treat because of their resistant to drugs. With the global menace of antibiotic resistance, several analytical techniques have been investigated to determine the levels of antibiotic residue in food animals. In particular, there are two best known techniques is being used in present are confirmatory and Screening.
