ABSTRACT

Hyaluronan (HA) is the main component of the synovial joint, eyes, extracellular matrix of the skin and many other tissues and organs in the body. The unique structure and properties of HA enable its usage in several bioapplications. This review describes physical-chemical properties of HA, its mechanism of action, and oxidative degradation.
