ABSTRACT

Various forms of social organization were found in some representatives of the families Apidae, Bombidae, Halictidae, Anthophoridae, and Euglossiedae. The origin of sociality is associated with the acquisition of the instinct of caring for developing offspring by the female-foundress, which can be expressed in its protection. In species phylogeny, acoustical and other forms of communication promoted consolidation and transformation of the bee colony into an evolutionary biological unit. The entire system of communications in a honey bee colony is represented by sophisticated instincts, the realization of which is stimulated by the needs of bees, which vary depending on their physiological state and environmental situation. The acoustic interaction between the dancing bees and the bees mobilized by them developed during the transformation of a bee colony in an evolving biological unit. The complication of nest behavior of bees settling in the ground was expressed in the acquisition of instincts for the construction of tunnels, labyrinths, and brood chambers.
