ABSTRACT

This chapter is a guide for performing and measuring instrument calibration for the near-infrared spectroscopy. This chapter includes instructions on instrument optical quality performance tests, including methods for wavelength accuracy and precision; photometric accuracy and precision; photometric linearity; short-, medium-, and long-term drift, noise, and instrument line shape. In addition, the use and illustration of commonly available wavelength and photometric standards for testing and comparisons are given. The various reference measurement values for peak positions at various measurement bandwidths, with spectra, are displayed for wavelength measurement standards. Photometric values and spectra are given for common photometric reference standards.
