ABSTRACT

The Electric Vehicles (EV) are emerging as a promising technology in the transport sector which will help to provide clean and sustainable alternative for the fossil fuel vehicles. In the current scenario, Pug in hybrid electric vehicle (PEV) market penetration is less and therefore the load on the electric grid is very limited. As the PEV number grows, there will be a need for smart management system for solving the problems like voltage deviation, electrical losses, transformer and line overloading, etc. These issues will directly affect the working of electric vehicles on ground. Therefore, a lot of research has been done and the solution has been proposed. This chapter presents a review of many authors’ work, their algorithms and methods to manage smart charging. Further, the concept of route mapping or scheduling is also summarized. Finally, it is concluded on the basis of review findings and recommendations for the future research on E-Mobility landscape.
