ABSTRACT

Poisonous plant’s bioactive compounds are widely examined for its varied potential in areas such as drug discovery, agriculture, pharmacy and therapeutics, owing to their antimicrobial, anticancerous properties and cytogenetic effect. Diversified researchers are exploring the prospective of plant parts and their bioactive compounds or phytochemicals in imminent areas of nanobiotechnology. In this connection, numerous poisonous plants have been scrutinized for their bioactive compounds and other plant products as a biological source for nanoparticles biosynthesis or green synthesis. Such an approach proves to be cost-effective, eco-friendly and efficient scalability for large-scale production of nanoparticles. This chapter aims to highlight the biosynthesis of some important metal and metal oxide nanoparticles from poisonous plant extract. Moreover, this chapter also explores some common poisonous plants and their bioactive compounds.
