ABSTRACT

When taking on the challenges of working with a new or unfamiliar technology, there are inevitably elements of uncertainty. When one begins to interpret clinical CT perfusion scans, there are often several challenges which present themselves. Separate from the issues of interpretation of mean tissue perfusion parameter values are the practical issues of how to approach a clinical data set in a patient suspected of having ischemia. The aim of this chapter is to provide some practical guidance to the novice learning to interpret CT perfusion scans based on our own experience with evaluating patients with acute and chronic ischemia.
