Introduction The technique of diagnostic transvaginal laparoscopy (TVL) as an outpatient procedure was described by us for the first time in 1998.1,2 It was meant to offer the subfertile patient without obvious pelvic pathology the possibility of a minimally invasive endoscopic exploration of the pelvis.
