Malignant bladder conditions Transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder is the fifth most common malignancy in women, with an incidence comparable to ovarian cancer.1 Its pathology varies from small superficial tumors (Figure 10.1) that usually require only endoscopic treatment to muscle invasive disease (Figure 10.2), which is managed with either total cystectomy and urinary diversion or radical radiotherapy.
