ABSTRACT
The deep layer is composed of loose fatty tissue with few septae.
The superficial layer is composed of denser fat within firm fibrous septae.
The deep layer is quite ‘‘forgiving’’ when subjected to liposuction. The superficial
layer must be approached with caution as it is prone to surface irregularities as a result of treatment.
