ABSTRACT
Introduction Temporal lobe epilepsy is usually divided into two different forms, depending on from which part of the temporal lobe the seizures actually originate. The division into mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) and neocortical temporal lobe epilepsy (NTLE) is especially important since each of these epilepsies requires a distinct surgical strategy.
