ABSTRACT
Road traffic accidents are the leading cause of death by injury. In 2002, 1.2 million people were killed in motor vehicle accidents worldwide and this number is expected to increase towards 1.9 million in 2030.1 It is estimated that 90% of all traffic accidents are caused by human factors and at least 30% of serious accidents can be ascribed to the driver’s mental or physical condition.2
