ABSTRACT
Percutaneous mitral commissurotomy (PMC) has been in use in the treatment of mitral stenosis since 1984.1
The good immediate and mid term results obtained during the last 20 years have led to its wide spread dissemination. It has now virtually replaced surgical commissurotomy and is a complement of mitral valve replacement.2
