ABSTRACT

Head and neck sarcomas are rare. They represent <5% of all sarcomas seen and treated at MSKCC. All types of soft tissue sarcoma are seen in the head and neck, particularly fibrosarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, and synovial sarcoma. A particularly difficult type of head and neck sarcoma is the irradiation-induced sarcoma seen in patients with previously treated retinoblastoma.
