ABSTRACT

The benefits and risks of hormone therapy (HT) are well documented in recent reports and meeting proceedings. However, there are still controversies related to the effect of HT on the breast and cardiovascular disease (CVD).1-5 several ambiguities induce confusion among the female population and physicians, having a direct effect on the compliance of HT. Users are very sensitive to information provided by the media and are more concerned about the symptoms of menopause such as vasomotor symptoms, skin or vaginal dryness and psychological intolerance as compared to the essential results of estrogen depletion, i.e. osteoporosis, CVD and mental health.
