ABSTRACT
The incidence of all cancers increases with age, and cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in the older population in the USA, as well as in Europe.1-3 Nevertheless, there are few clinical trials for this age group, and few patients are referred to existing trials. The limited attention paid to cancer in the elderly may, at least in part, be ascribed to the difficulty in the definition of biological age.
