ABSTRACT
The first four chapters in this section have summarized the evidence on the epidemiology of vascular dementia (VaD) in different regions of the world, while the previous chapter in the section summarizes the results of meta-analyses involving all countries from which data are available. The purpose of the present chapter is to provide an integration and commentary on these varied contributions. This chapter identifies common themes raised in the previous chapters as well as areas of difference.
