ABSTRACT
Animal bites, which range from minor to potentially life or limb threatening, are a common cause of visits to the Emergency Department. Caring for the bitten child requires an understanding of the types and locations of injuries, and of the potential outcomes. This chapter addresses the Emergency Department management of animal bites, including some controversial aspects of care.
