ABSTRACT
Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, an uncommon phenomenon in infants and children, is most often felt, by parents and caregivers, as very dramatic, needing emergency treatment, regardless of the importance of the bleeding. Adequate management of the situation – which can obviously be life-threatening – requires experience, common sense and good co-ordination from the nursing staff and physicians in charge.
