ABSTRACT
In any diagnostic laboratory, the design and application of appropriate and conscientious internal quality control (QC) procedures and external quality assurance (QA) programs, is critical for establishing and maintaining the highest level of patient care. An excellent quality management program revolves around the creed of continuously striving to improve all aspects of every laboratory procedure; providing services that are safe and error-free. The role of QC procedures in the in υitro Fertilization (IVF) laboratory, is to fine-tune existing protocols in order to more effectively help infertile patients in their quest to have a healthy baby.
