Therapeutic approaches to improve impaired male fertility are still limited.1 This is due to the fact that the cause of reduced fertility is unknown in most cases. Causal medical treatments in andrology include the treatment of endocrine insufficiency, sperm transport disturbances, and male adnexitis.2 Hormone therapy will mainly improve sperm concentration only in cases of male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
