ABSTRACT

Introduction Clinical trials of lipid lowering in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) had led to ever lower targets being adopted for LDL-cholesterol and also to the recognition that raising HDL-cholesterol may be associated with benefit. This case report describes a patient with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), hypoalphalipoproteinemia, and a high level of lipoprotein (a) who presented with an acute coronary syndrome at a young age.
