Standardization of Terminology of Lower Urinary Tract Function: Synthesis of First Six Reports

I. INTRODUCTION The International Continence Society (ICS) established a committee for the standardization of terminology of lower urinary tract function in 1973. Five of the six reports (No. 1-4 and 6) from this committee, approved by the society, have been published. The fifth report, on “Quantification of Urine Loss,” was an internal ICS document but appears, in part, in this document.
