ABSTRACT
Proptosis and diplopia are the most common indications for echographic evaluation of the orbit. Extraocular muscle evaluation is indicated for each of these, as is the search for an orbital tumor that would explain the proptosis. The diagnosis of thyroid eye disease (TED) is relatively easy for an experienced ophthalmic echographer skilled in orbital evaluation.
