ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1 the history of the licensing of pharmaceuticals was discussed, including the background to the introduction of the Medicines Act 1968. The United Kingdom’s (UK) system of licensing of pharmaceutical products has developed from this major piece of framework or ‘enabling’ legislation.
