ABSTRACT

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental syndrome with symptom onset typically by age 7, and often symptoms are evident between the ages of 3 and 5 years. Prevalence rates for ADHD vary depending on methodology. However, the majority of studies report prevalence rates of 3-6% within a school-aged population, but those receiving treatment are at the lower end of the prevalence rate (1).
