ABSTRACT
Osseous changes believed to be related to radiation-induced vascular damage were reported as early as 1926 (1) . Ewing introduced the term “radiation osteitis” to describe these radiation-induced abnormalities. Since then, many other investigators have described changes related to the effect of radiation on bone and have introduced many terms, such as osteonecrosis and radionecrosis.
