ABSTRACT
Particle shape and size play a fundamental role in determining both primary and bulk powder and suspension properties. There are a number of techniques, both qualitative and quantitative, that can be used to characterize materials and use these properties to predict the behavior of the materials in formulations or for quality control purposes. This chapter explores the various particle size and morphological properties that can be measured and the variety of techniques used in this characterization.
