Ovaries Ovarian position in neonates is quite variable. Although most often found along the superior margin of the posterior fold of the broad ligament, the ovaries can be located
anywhere from the inferior margin of the kidney to the broad ligament, reflecting their normal pattern of descent (14). The ligaments that support the ovary are quite flexible, which allows ovarian position to change, depending on factors such as bladder fullness and ovarian size (15).
