ABSTRACT
Muscle bundles of fibers are seen as hypoechoic zones and the septa are seen as hyperechoic lines separating the fibers. Surrounding the entire muscle is a fascia or aponeurosis, which is made up of thick connective tissue and is also hyperechoic relative to muscle.
