ABSTRACT
Laparoscopy is now a common minimally invasive technique in an increasing number of operations. This chapter will briefly outline the benefits of laparoscopic surgery to the patient, the pathophysiological effects of abdominal insufflation, the anesthetic management of laparoscopy, in general, and general surgical procedures, in particular. Postoperative pain management will be briefly outlined.
