ABSTRACT

Prostatic adenocarcinoma is now the number one cancer found in men. Approximately 230,000 new cases will be diagnosed in 2006. As one ages, the incidence of the disease increases: it is estimated that by age 60, one in three men will have a focus of prostate cancer present, while half of all men in their eighth decade will harbor this tumor. Prostate cancer is usually slow growing, and most men who have this tumor will die of another cause.
