ABSTRACT
Patients with trauma and critical illness present physicians and other health professionals with a host of ethical considerations. Ethical behavior is aspired to by the vast majority of physicians and health care workers around the world. Although there is broad agreement on fundamental principles, complex ethical dilemmas can arise in clinical practice that challenge even the most erudite and ethically sophisticated of clinicians.
