ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION The intelligent and efficient use of local anesthesia for softtissue surgery has been greatly influenced by dermatologists since dermatologic surgery became an integral part of our specialty. Dermatologic surgeons have been at the forefront in pioneering office-based local anesthesia for procedures previously performed in hospital operating rooms under general anesthesia.
