ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION Just a few years ago, dermatologic lasers were primarily employed by a handful of laser cognoscenti, who had made a serious academic and financial commitment to understanding their use. Rarely was one of the few existing laser types available to general, private dermatologists or residents. Today, increasing numbers and types of specialized lasers are accessible to a majority of practicing and training dermatologists through purchase, lease, hospitals, rental, and other arrangements.
