ABSTRACT
Meningiomas are common tumors seen in neurosurgical practice. We review the common literature regarding the epidemiology, histopathology, molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of benign, atypical, and malignant meningiomas. Moreover, we discuss the current literature supporting the current pathological classification of these tumors and propose a rational scheme for tumor treatment.
