ABSTRACT
Infection is a particularly prominent cause of morbidity and mortality in all transplant recipients, including those who have received an organ from a living donor. This chapter covers the risk factors for infection post-transplantation, a general approach to the investigation and diagnosis of infections post-transplantation, and a review of the common infections occurring in the transplant recipient.
