ABSTRACT

Cancer of the skin is a very common form of neoplasm. These cancers are com-

monly divided between cutaneous melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancer.

Cutaneous melanoma has shown a rapid increase of incidence in last decades,

and because of its poor prognosis, this neoplasm has received a great deal of

interests in epidemiological studies. In marked contrasts, and despite the import-

ant prevalence of this disease in the population, few reliable epidemiological data

exists about nonmelanoma skin cancers.
