ABSTRACT

A good invention deserves good patent protection. There can be no doubt about this. Yet, this is easier said than done, and it is clearly one of the most frustrating experiences for an inventor when his good invention is denied protection for reasons unrelated to the invention as such. Unfair as it seems, this is not a rare event. In the pharmaceutical arts and especially in inventions relating to formulations, a frequent source for such frustrations are so-called parameter claims.
