ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to describe some of the intracellular signaling pathways that have been studied in relation to the control of inflammation for pathogenic particles, and in particular for nanoparticles. In addition, this article will highlight some of the methods that are most appropriate for such studies, and those in which the use of particles provide specific problems that need to be controlled in order to allow appropriate interpretation of the data.
