ABSTRACT
The drug delivery sector has experienced considerable growth over the past decade as indicated by a variety of measures: the number of pharmaceutical products on the market that incorporate a drug delivery technology, the total sales of such products, the number of drug delivery companies that have been established, and the number and variety of drug delivery technologies upon which these companies areworking. This increase in activity is also reflected in the number of drug delivery deals recorded in PharmaDeals agreements; the number in 2005 was the highest recorded to date (Fig. 1).
