Ocular drug delivery is an extremely important topic, especially with the recent development of new drugs for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) (1). Drug delivery to the eye can vary in difficulty and complexity from simple topical eye drops to more sophisticated systems like ocular implants.
