ABSTRACT
As a result of the ageing population, and the fact that several chronic conditions have common risk factors, comorbidity is common in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (1). Consequently, the management of patients with complex comorbidity, which was previously the concern of the geriatrician, has become an issue of concern for most physicians treating respiratory disease today.
