ABSTRACT
CHALLENGING CASE A 47-year-old male is undergoing a transanal excision of a rectal villous adenoma under intravenous sedation and local infiltration of xylocaine. During the procedure the patient complains of lightheadedness and numbness of the tongue. The anesthesiologist notices bradycardia and hypotension.
