ABSTRACT

Flash pulmonary edema is often the first clinical symptom of bilateral RAS.16 Renovascular hypertension is usually caused by non-atherosclerotic RAS such as fibromuscular dysplasia, which occurs in younger patients (< 40 years of age). It is probably the most common cause of hypertension in young children17,18 and has a higher prevalence in females.
