ABSTRACT

Advances in cancer treatment have improved the long-term survival of young women suffering from malignancies. However, cancer therapies carry adverse effects, including loss of ovarian function and sterility. There have been a few options for young women undergoing cancer treatment, and the advent of new methods for preserving gonadal function and fertility is promising. Today, we can cryopreserve embryos, oocytes, and ovarian tissue, and in those undergoing pelvic irradiation, the physician should consider performing laparoscopic ovarian suspension.
